Anastasia is a small sophisticated women's boutique featuring an eclectic mix of personally chosen exclusive labels which cater to every occasion. Ranges include Irish designers Aideen Bodkin, Kate + Eva, Orla Kiely and Mary Grant alongside such international designers as Catherine Malandrino, Nicolangela, Transit and She's So. Located in the heart of the lovely Ranelagh village, this little gem is the ideal port of call for the discerning and fashion savvy shopper.

This shop is probably worth a visit just to sit in the funky, modern chairs so thoughtfully provided for the weary shopper. The store is likewise well-designed, with a very clean, minimal look and funky music on the stereo. The clothes at Tribe are probably somewhere between surfer and club kid, featuring a surprisingly good selection of American baseball caps and Vans trainers. It's certainly worth checking out.

Monsoon's clothes are colourful and flowing for the most part, aimed at the slightly more mature end of the young market.Their range features lots of dresses and skirts, often with a floral pattern or a velvet theme. Some of the excellent clothes for young girls as well as a variety of handbags, jewellery and hair clips are also in stock. For those with an individualistic streak, Monsoon might supply something that little bit different.

Taking Tom Monaghan's legendary love for cashmere to a new address, the new South Anne edition of Monaghan's Cashmere is just as brilliant as its earlier counterpart on Royal Hibernian Way. Renowned for high-quality cashmere clothing and accessories, the store is a must-visit for those who wish to purchase sweaters, socks, scarves etc. With stylish designs and soft feel of the fabric, your wardrobe game is bound to go up a notch with Monaghan's Cashmere.

The Alteration Centre offers arguably the best service of its kind in Dublin, and if you ask nicely, sometimes things can be done in hours. As it is located up a narrow staircase, you will pass the room full of tailors whisking through mountains of adjustments. It's just the place when you've got the perfect thing to wear given a few minor alterations.

This offers your typical museum shop stock: an interesting mixture of items that will only appeal to tourists, as well as some other pieces that are quite beautiful. The store, located on the original site of Ireland's National Museum, is perhaps not the first place you would think of visiting for a spot of shopping. However, it has an especially good selection of jewellery based on Celtic designs, as well as pottery and books exploring the history and culture of Ireland. A good place for an informative or educational gift.

Only open on Saturdays, this great shop is as close as Dublin comes to an antique clothes market. It is run by a woman who spends the rest of her week working in Portobello Market in London, so she really knows what to buy and where to find it. The antique evening wear is divine, and if you need a fringed shawl or silk scarf to finish off an outfit, this is the place to go. It's reported that Robbie Williams likes to shop here if that gives you anything to go by.

The Kilkenny Design Shop is a bright and airy store that serves as a showcase for contemporary Irish fashion. You'll find clothes made by up-and-coming young designers as well as the more established, including Allicano, Andrea Cleary, Elaine Curtis, Desmond Gannon, Louise Kennedy, Joan Millar, Glynis Robins and Henry White, just to name a few. For the casual visitor, the shop is also worth a browse. A wide range of original gifts, including ceramics, pottery and glass ornaments are on offer. Once you've gone through all that, take advantage of the restaurant upstairs and watch some rugby on the Trinity College playing fields below.
